A school-age child is being treated for diphtheria, Berlin health authorities said on Tuesday, confirming media reports in the German capital. According to the reports, the child is a 10-year-old boy, who is a pupil at a Waldorf school. He was initially treated for acute tonsillitis in a hospital in Brandenburg, the state that surrounds Berlin.
