Stanislav Pozdnyakov plans to resign as president of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) and has asked the body’s executive board to hold early elections. An ROC statement on Tuesday said that the executive body is to decide on Pozdnyakov’s proposal at its next meeting on November 7. Elections could then take place in December and end Pozdnyakov’s term.
