The European Union has decided to open accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova, European Council President Charles Michel announced on X on Thursday. The EU will also open negotiations with Bosnia-Herzegovina “once the necessary degree of compliance with the membership criteria is reached,” Michel wrote on Thursday evening on the platform formerly known as Twitter. Georgia will also be named a candidate country, he added. “A clear signal of hope for their people and for our continent,” Michel wrote.
