The Under-17 male World Cup will be held annually in Qatar until 2029, the FIFA Council decided on Thursday. In addition, the Under-17 female World Cup is to be played in Morocco for the next five years from 2025. Until now, both tournaments have been held every two years. FIFA had already announced last year that the Under-17 male World Cup would be played annually from 2025 and increased from 24 to 48 teams. Qatar, the 2022 senior men’s World Cup host, is continuing to invest in football. In future, 24 nations will take part in the female tournament.
