A major emergency response was mounted after a blaze erupted at a detached house, with 25 firefighters rushing to the scene. Five fire engines were sent to the property in Sandling Road, Saltwood, near Hythe just before 4pm yesterday. Crews discovered smoke coming from the home and set about tackling the flames.
