A 54-year-old driver was killed Thursday afternoon after he rear-ended an SUV and veered off the Garden State Parkway in Wall, officials said. Joseph Pace was driving his car south near mile post 100.3 when he struck two sign supports, slid down an embankment and went through a fence after hitting the SUV from behind, State Police said. Pace, of Brick, was pronounced dead following the 3:07 p.m. crash. No one in the SUV was injured, authorities said. The crash remains under investigation. Our journalism needs your support.
