Xiaomi 15 series is expected to be launched in October this year in China. Ahead of the launch, numerous rumors have revealed the design and specifications of the device. The latest one confirms the camera specs of Xiaomi 15 Pro.

According to the leak, the phone will feature three 50-megapixel cameras on the back. The main camera will have a variable aperture of f/1.4-f/2.5, which is different from the variable aperture of f/1.4-f/4.0 in Xiaomi 14 Pro. This means that the aperture will not close as much as its predecessor.

According to previous rumors, the camera system of the pro model will include a periscope telephoto lens. In addition to it, there will likely be an ultra-wide-angle camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels. The light absorption of the telephoto lens is reportedly improved compared to its predecessor, which is likely to improve the image quality of the telephoto lens.

Xiaomi 15 Pro will reportedly use the OV50K as its main sensor. This is the most powerful image sensor from OmniVision, which has a fairly good dynamic range. The OV50K image sensor has a pixel size of 1.2 microns and a sensor size of 1/1.3″. It also boasts a high gain and Correlated Multisampling (CMS) features, which are likely to help in low-light conditions. It supports 120 frames per second output and 60 frames per second in HDR mode. The phone also supports variable aperture, which gives it the ability to adjust light consumption depending on the situation.

The telephoto periscope reportedly uses a Sony IMX8 series sensor and supports 5x optical zoom. It is worth noting that Xiaomi 15 Pro is also equipped with a Leica Summilux lens. This optical solution is expected to contribute to the clarity of the final result.
