An Essex County jury convicted a man charged in a 2009 fatal stabbing in Newark, 15 years after he fled to the Dominican Republic, prosecutors said Friday. A jury in state Superior Court in Newark on Wednesday found Cesar Campos guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and aggravated manslaughter, both first-degree crimes, plus related weapons charges, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens’ office announced.
