A fatal shooting in Irvington took the life of a Brooklyn, New York man Sunday morning, authorities said. Irvington police responded to various reports of a man who was shot a residence on Melville Place at about 2:30 a.m. and arrived to find a wounded Oliver A. Francis, 61. He died at a local hospital at about 3:15 a.m, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said. No other information about the crime was made public.
