A Suffolk bank has announced its closure date following a drop in footfall as customers use internet banking instead. Halifax will be closing its branch in North Street, Sudbury, on Monday, August 12. In a report, the bank found that only 463 customers used the branch’s counter four times in the past six months up to November 2023. Halifax said that 32 per cent of customers had used other branches in the last 12 months, with 71 per cent having used other branches and online banking in the last six months.
