Volkswagen announced plans on Thursday to launch an entry-level electric vehicle priced at about €20,000 ($21,780) for the first time in 2027. VW brand chief Thomas Schäfer said, “The working title is ID.1 and the vehicle is planned for 2027.” He was speaking at the digital annual press conference of the Volkswagen Group, which includes the brands Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat, Cupra and VW Commercial Vehicles.
