The head of Bishop’s Stortford’s new Avanti Grange school is pressing for action to ensure icy roads are made safe for students. Parents are backing his call after a “narrow miss” last week when a car mounted the kerb and crashed into a garden. Hertfordshire County Council says it is not responsible for gritting Newland Avenue and the Bishop’s Stortford North Consortium has declined to act.
