A far-right councillor has won the by-election for Slade Lode South Ward of Chatteris and has expressed his priorities for the town. The British Democrats won the by-election after receiving a total of 67 votes, taking 47% of the turnout – meaning Ken Perrin now represents the area. Independent councillor Jo Fuller-Gray received 35 votes and Labour’s Richard Hirson received 39 votes. There was a turnout of 21.2%.
