Steelers cornerback Cory Trice made the most of his opportunity Sunday after entering the game following an injury to Donte Jackson. Immediately after he entered, Trice came away with an interception on Broncos quarterback Bo Nix in the end zone to rob Denver of a chance to score. It marked the first career interception for the second-year player out of Purdue. Pittsburgh would go on to score a field goal on the ensuing drive to extend its lead to 13-0.
