A lorry loaded with around 26,000 litres of beer has overturned on a motorway slip road near Erfurt in central Germany. The driver was trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued by the fire brigade following the accident on Tuesday. The 45-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to hospital. According to initial findings, he had been drinking alcohol. A large quantity of beer reportedly spilled from the damaged lorry. The slip road was closed and a diversion set up.
