Germany’s leading companies have reduced their greenhouse gas emissions over the past year, according to an analysis published on Friday by consultancy EY. Taking 2022 as a benchmark, the direct emissions of the 40 companies listed on the blue-chip DAX index decreased from 218 to 189 million tons of CO2 equivalents, representing a reduction of around 14%. This analysis was based on the sustainability reports of the 40 companies, which document their efforts towards climate neutrality.
