Germany’s Olympic tennis champion Alexander Zverev will stand trial for assault in Berlin from May 31, a court spokeswoman said on Monday. The 26-year-old is accused of physically assaulting a woman during an argument in Berlin in May 2020. A district court fined him €450,000 ($492,000) last year but as he appealed, the case has gone to trial. Eight trial days are initially planned until July 19. Due to the nature of the charge, Zverev can be represented by a lawyer.
