A couple have celebrated 60 years of marriage, having first met at their friends’ wedding. Michael and Patricia Cowley were married on August 15, 1964, at St Paulinus’ Church, New Ollerton, and have lived on Grange Road, Newark ever since. Despite a cancer scare earlier this year which meant they weren’t sure they’d see their milestone anniversary, Michael has now been declared cancer free following an operation in July and they are looking forward to more years together.
