Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico suffered several gunshot wounds and faces a difficult recovery after the assassination attempt against him, according to the director of the hospital treating him. Director Miriam Lapunikova said Fico underwent a five-hour emergency operation in hospital. A CT scan was carried out beforehand. Two teams of doctors were involved in the operation, and Fico continues to be under the constant care of a team of doctors, she said.
