Thousands of people turned out to demonstrate against the government of Prime Minister Robert Fico in Slovakia’s two largest cities on Friday evening. The protests in Bratislava and Košice were directed against government plans to overhaul the public broadcaster RTVS. The two liberal opposition parties Progressive Slovakia (PS) and Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) called for the demonstrations.
