At IFA 2024, global technology brand HONOR unveiled the innovative Honor Magic V3 foldable smartphone, which sets new records for thinness and lightness in its class. It also significantly improves the user experience with high performance, artificial intelligence technologies for productivity and vision protection, new shooting capabilities, increased reliability, durability and longevity.
During the presentation, HONOR CEO George Zhao spoke about the brand’s commitment to creating new opportunities for using innovations in everyday life, work, and entertainment for every user.

Honor Magic V3 features
Honor Magic V3 is the lightest and thinnest folding smartphone on the market. The device weighs 226 grams with a thickness of only 9.2 mm when folded and 4.35 mm when unfolded.
The body of Honor Magic V3 is made using a special fiber that increases impact resistance up to 40 times compared to other flagship foldable smartphones, while the thickness of the back cover is reduced by more than 30%.
Honor Magic V3 is equipped with an ultra-lightweight hinge made of HONOR Super Steel, which provides additional strength and reliability of the mechanism. The smartphone has received the SGS durability certificate, which confirms the ability of the hinge to withstand more than 500,000 folds.
Displays and AI
Honor Magic V3 features a shock-resistant HONOR Super Armored inner screen and a HONOR NanoCrystal Shield outer screen, so the smartphone can withstand even the harshest conditions. In addition, HONOR Magic V3 is IPX8 waterproof.
Embodying human-centered innovation, Honor Magic V3 supports the industry’s best backlight control technology with 4320 Hz PWM frequency. The flicker-free screen reduces eye strain and provides a comfortable viewing experience in any environment. HONOR Magic V3 has a 6.43-inch external display and a 7.92-inch internal screen.
Improvements for the eyes
In addition to Dynamic Brightness and Circadian Night Screen vision protection technologies HONOR Magic V3 received AI algorithms to simulate the wearing of special lenses, which, by correcting the light directed to the eyes, reduce the strain on vision during prolonged use of the smartphone.
The AI defocus technology is based on the use of multiple segments (DIMS) with microlenses at the edges of the screen to focus light on the peripheral retina and prevent axial elongation of the eyeball.
Laboratory tests have shown that AI defocus in Magic V3 reduces myopia by an average of 13° with prolonged use and increases the thickness of the central choroid after only 25 minutes of interaction with the smartphone screen.
Battery and charging
The advanced third-generation silicon-carbon battery has an increased capacity of 5150 mAh while achieving even more compact dimensions.
The smartphone supports 66W HONOR SuperCharge fast wired charging and 50W HONOR Wireless SuperCharge fast wireless charging.
Honor Magic V3 camera
The camera module of Honor Magic V3 is made in the shape of a diamond, which makes the smartphone even more sophisticated and elegant. In the ultra-thin, foldable body of HONOR Magic V3, the brand’s engineers managed to install a triple camera, which greatly expands creative possibilities: a 50 megapixel main sensor with OIS, a 40 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with autofocus for macro shooting, and a 50 megapixel telephoto camera with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom.
The HONOR Magic V3 also comes with features that provide an enhanced user experience: AI-enabled shooting, Magic Portal, and advanced AI tools in HONOR Notes that improve handwriting, recognize handwritten math formulas, and convert speech to text with real-time translation into other languages.
Price and availability
Honor Honor V3 will be available in three colors: terracotta, green, and black. The price of the novelty in the European market will be 1999 €.
