Penn State had a rare early season bye week this weekend. The Nittany Lions were actually one of six schools in the Coaches Poll who had the weekend off, including two of their top competitors in the Big Ten, Ohio State and USC. With each of the teams ranked ahead of Penn State also winning on Saturday, there wasn’t much movement in the updated Coaches Poll, as James Franklin’s team dropped one spot to No. 8 in this week’s poll.
