A cyclist has died after colliding with the driver’s door of a car near a railway station. The rider, a man in his 70s, was riding a black bike on Canal Road, Strood, towards the High Street when he was involved in a crash with a stationary blue MG ZS. Emergency services attended the incident, opposite the entrance of Strood Railway station, at around 11.20am on Tuesday (May 14). Police had closed the road by The Boat House pub and were turning drivers around. The cyclist, a man in his 70s, was flown to a London hospital with “life-threatening” injuries. He has since died.
