Prominent Lebanese writer and academic Elias Khoury, noted for his advocacy of the Palestinian cause, died on Sunday in Beirut, Lebanese media reported. He was 76. Born in a Beirut neighbourhood in July 1948, as a teenager he joined Fatah, the armed wing of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
