Eight girls at Northgate Primary School raised £405 for the Animal Rescue Charity (ARC) in Bishop’s Stortford with a cake sale. The group of 11-year-old friends in Year 6 baked around 600 brownies, cupcakes, cookies, chocolate crispy cakes, shortbread biscuits and a large Maltesers chocolate cake to sell at their school in Cricketfield Lane. Then during the Easter holidays the girls handed over their donation to the Farnham Road centre, where they were given a tour and introduced to Tiddler the kitten and James the dog, who were waiting to go to their new homes.
