It’s hard not to rave about chives. A perennial herb, plant chives on your balcony or garden once and harvest for life (or at least for many, many years). Chives may be one of the most underrated plants around, delicious yet so undemanding. You only need to sow them once and the leaves will keep sprouting, whether you chop off a big bunch to season your salad or just a couple to sprinkle on a sandwich.
