OMAHA, Neb. — NC State junior catcher Jacob Cozart needed surgery this past summer, and he told Wolfpack coach Elliott Avent that it was scheduled for 6:45 a.m. Cozart, the Pack’s starting backstop, needed to be there at 6 a.m. But he was just keeping his skipper in the loop, not thinking anything of it.
