Eve Systems, long a stalwart of building smart home devices for the Apple Home ecosystem, has launched a Matter version of its Eve Light Switch. The $50 in-wall device is outfitted with a Thread radio and can operate as a router node on a Thread mesh network. The Eve Light Switch is a paddle-style on/off switch—not a dimmer—that can handle 15-amp, incandescent and tungsten lighting loads up to 600 watts, and 15-amp resistive loads up to 1800 watts.
