By Graeme Murray An XL Bully dog puppy handed in to a rescue centre was ‘wrongly killed’ by police, prompting an official complaint from a vet. Officers have been accused of destroying the dog without proper legal process. Sharon Williams of Celandine Wood Animal Rescue in Wirral, Merseyside, claims she she was denied the chance to save the animal using an exemption certificate. The rescue centre cared for the eight month old pup, called Esco, and was able to find it a home before an ownership ban on the breed started.
