Firefighters have managed to bring a wildfire under control at a former military training area south of Berlin, a spokeswoman for the regional control centre said on Saturday. The fire that broke out on Friday near Jüterbog in the eastern state of Brandenburg has been contained, though efforts were hampered as the area in the Teltow-Fläming district is contaminated with munitions, which meant the emergency services can currently only extinguish the fire from paths.
