After two years of declining quantities, German fisheries brought more fish ashore again in 2023. They recorded a landing weight of 156,924 tons, about 4% more than the previous year, the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE) reported in Bonn on Friday. The increase in fish quantities is attributed mainly to higher catch quotas for schooling fish such as blue whiting.
