The owner and medical director of a Kentucky pain clinic were sentenced Wednesday for their roles in a scam that cheated Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance companies out of more than $4 million in medically unnecessary urine drug tests. Dr. William Lawrence Siefert, 70, of Dayton, Ohio, the clinic’s medical director, was sentenced to one year and six months in prison and ordered to pay $1,968,763.10 in restitution.
