The woman behind a charity which has supported more than 1,000 injured or disabled dogs is celebrating a prestigious honour at Westminster Palace today. Rachel Wettner, from Great Cornard, was named as a winner of the British Citizen Award (BCA), now in its 10th year, in recognition of her work as the founder of Winston’s Wheels. The fund-raising platform was initially launched in 2017 to help purchase a wheelchair for Rachel’s Staffordshire bull terrier, Winston, who had lost the use of his hind legs because of an inoperable tumour that had grown on his spine.
