Shotokan Karate Ryu students achieved a brilliant 99% pass rate at their latest kyu grading. More than 120 members of the Bishop’s Stortford-based club took part in the event at Mountfitchet Romeera Leisure Centre in Stansted. The grading, overseen by Sensei Michael Ring (seventh dan) and Sensei Donna Ring (fifth dan), encompassed kihon (basics), kata (formal exercises) and kumite (sparring drills) and was a true test of the students’ skills and spirit.
