In recent decades, freelancing, which is a form of remote work, has gained considerable popularity on a global scale.

This work format suits both company owners and their employees. Business leaders can save money on buying or renting an office and all the necessary equipment to organize its work (furniture, office equipment, etc.), as well as save on utility bills for the maintenance of the premises. And freelancers can work comfortably at home – they don’t need to travel anywhere, spending money on transportation, and can often organize and plan their working day at their own discretion.

Problems of domestic employees working remotely

Before the full-scale invasion of our northern neighbor into the territory of our country, there were no nuances that would hinder the work of freelancers.

Everything changed when the war started. The enemy began to systematically destroy the energy infrastructure of all Ukrainian regions, regardless of their territorial location. As of the spring of this year, according to sources, almost two-thirds of the relevant energy facilities have been destroyed, damaged or are in the occupation zone.

Despite the assistance of Western European countries, emergency and scheduled blackouts in Ukraine have become an inevitable, forced necessity.

This situation made it virtually impossible for specialists of all categories to work remotely:

  • commercial website developers
  • web designers;
  • programmers;
  • copywriters and text editors;
  • specialists in architecture, management and engineering;
  • administrators and marketers.

This is due to the fact that a key condition for performing professional duties for such specialists is a computer gadget and Internet connection. And they are only possible if there is an electricity supply.

The management of freelancers, especially those working for the foreign market, is unlikely to be sympathetic to this situation, while their remote workers are forced to lose time and money through no fault of their own.

Solar panels

Many shops and other commercial facilities have found a way out of this situation by using generators.

But for those who do freelance work at home, such energy sources are in most cases unsuitable. The vast majority of such specialists live in apartments. In this case, it is impossible to install a gasoline or diesel generator. And even for residents of private homes, using a suitable unit that runs on expensive fuel is not a cheap pleasure.

The most acceptable option was found by those remote workers who decided to buy solar panels complete with a grid inverter and turnkey installation of these systems.

An autonomous solar power plant (SPP) of even the smallest capacity can provide power for all computer and household appliances, as well as provide an apartment or other housing with light. Thanks to solar panels, which are environmentally friendly and productive, a Wi-Fi modem, smartphone, laptop, and PC can operate stably.

Thus, these private electric power systems become a lifeline for freelancers, allowing them to work as usual.

The sun’s energy, which is absorbed and converted into direct current by the PV cells and transformed into alternating current by the system’s inverter, is inexhaustible. The operation of solar panels does not harm the living environment and does not require the use of fuel materials.

Those who have their own rooftop or backyard power plant have no reason to worry about power outages and rising electricity tariffs.
