Srinagar: Sheikh Mohammad Aslam, a retired Superintendent of Police (SP), was arrested on Friday night under the Official Secrets Act (OSA), according to media reports. An official stated that Aslam was taken into custody for disclosing “some FIRs and sensitive information” in a book he wrote. Aslam began his career as an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) in 1986 and received out-of-turn promotions, eventually rising to the rank of SP. He currently resides in the Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu city and is originally from Udhampur district.
