Tokyo stocks were higher Tuesday morning, led by technology issues as sentiment was lifted by gains on Wall Street overnight, including a record-high close of the tech-heavy Nasdaq. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 401.67 points, or 1.05 percent, from Monday to 38,504.11. The broader Topix index was up 19.91 points, or 0.74 percent, at 2,719.92.
