Nearly 1,000 Russians living in Latvia have been asked to either settle their migration status within two weeks or leave voluntarily – if not they would be expelled, the head of Latvia’s migration authority said. Maria Roze made her comments on Latvian television on Wednesday. The Russian citizens have been sent a letter to this effect. Latvia changed its immigration law in autumn 2022 in response to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
