A flood alert is now in place for low-lying areas along the River Trent tributaries. The Environment Agency have said that river levels are forecast to rise at the Lowdham river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland may begin in the early hours of tomorrow morning, between 1am and 4am.
