Newark Tennis Club have been busy since the new year as their teams have played against several clubs. A good win for the ladies in the 1st Division 2 competition saw them defeat Burton Joyce by 58-50. The winning team of Sara Jackson/Steph Smith led the way with a 31-5 combined score. Katy Dines/Annie Walton added supporting points despite going down 15-21. The third pair of Dawn Cartledge/Clare Hogg also achieved much-needed points in their 12-24 loss. In the Men’s 2nd Division 6 competition, Newark were narrowly defeated 55-53 by The Park at home. Todor Malinov/Edgars Barkinskis won 20-16. …
