Xiaomi is planning to launch the Redmi K70 Ultra on July 19, and ahead of the launch, the company has announced that a limited edition version, dubbed the Redmi K70 Ultra Champion Edition, will also be released.
The phone borrows its design from the previous K70 Pro Champion Edition and features the Y-shaped logo of the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 supercar alongside the SQUADRA CORSE racing shield logo. It will be available in bright green and bold yellow colors.
Unsurprisingly, the focus of the Champion Edition is purely aesthetic, offering fans the chance to own a phone with a design reminiscent of the world of high-performance racing.
Xiaomi has not yet provided detailed information about the technical specifications of this Champion Edition device, but it is likely that the main hardware will be a mirror image of the standard version. However, the limited edition model may come with upgraded memory options.
Redmi K70 Ultra specifications
Redmi K70 Ultra is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, which supports a 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.
The screen also has PWM brightness control with a frequency of 3840 Hz, which Xiaomi says provides the industry’s best eye protection in low light conditions. While the exact size of the screen remains undisclosed, it is known to have been developed in conjunction with TCL.
Its camera system features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 primary sensor, likely accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Notably, the K70 Ultra is the first Redmi phone to utilize Xiaomi’s proprietary AISP image processing algorithm, which aims to improve overall camera performance.
Another feature of the Redmi K70 Ultra is Xiaomi’s Pengpai T1 signal boosting chip. It reportedly delivers a 12% boost in WiFi performance, a 20% improvement in GPS performance, and a significant 58% increase in 5G WiFi signal strength.
In addition, the phone will have a Surge P2 chip for fast charging, a G1 chip for power management, and a D1 chip for independent display image processing. All of these are proprietary SoCs developed by Xiaomi.
In addition, it has been confirmed that the phone is equipped with a 5500 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support for quick charge replenishment. It also boasts an IP68 dust and water protection certificate.
