Adobe has announced new artificial intelligence tools for its Creative Cloud products, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro. Photoshop now features Remove Distractions, which automatically detects and removes unwanted objects, such as people or wires, with one click. Users can now choose whether to use generative AI based on the Adobe Firefly model or non-generative AI for the Remove tools.

Adobe has also updated the Firefly Image 3 model to improve the variety and photo-realism of generated images, better handling complex queries. Illustrator now features Objects on Path, which allows you to easily attach and place objects along a path of any shape. A tool for creating layouts based on 3D models has been made publicly available, and the improved Image Trace feature better converts raster images to vector images.

InDesign got a Generative Expand tool for expanding images to the desired layout. Premiere Pro has a Generative Extend feature that uses the updated Firefly AI Video model, but it’s still in beta. Most features are already available to users, and some new features, such as Generative Extend in Premiere Pro, are still being tested.

Adobe has introduced Project Music GenAI Control, a platform capable of generating audio from text descriptions such as “happy dance” or “sad jazz” as well as from a suggested melody.

This tool allows users to customize the results within a single workflow, including adjusting parameters such as tempo, intensity, repeating patterns, and structure. Users can extend a track to any length, remix music, or create endless loops.

The Music GenAI Control project was developed by Adobe in collaboration with researchers from the University of California and Carnegie Mellon University. Currently, it is a research project, but in the future it may become publicly available. The platform does not yet have a user interface.

Adobe usually develops generative art tools for data that is licensed or in the public domain to avoid potential intellectual property issues. The company is also working on watermarking technology to identify audio created by Project Music GenAI Control, but this process is still ongoing.
