The budget-friendly Samsung Galaxy A06 has taken another step closer to launch by receiving certification from SIRIM, the Malaysian Institute of Standards and Industrial Research. This follows its previous appearances in the FCC and BIS databases, hinting at an imminent global rollout.
Although the SIRIM certificate doesn’t reveal specific details about the phone, it does confirm existing leaks and rumors about the imminent launch of the Galaxy A06. We also know some of its specifications thanks to previous certifications.
The FCC certification confirmed the phone’s model number (SM-A065F/DS) and some key connectivity features. We can expect the Galaxy A06 to boast dual-band Wi-Fi (most likely Wi-Fi 5, judging by previous leaks) and Bluetooth connectivity. For network connectivity, it will only support 4G LTE, not 5G.
The phone has also been spotted in Geekbench, revealing details about its processor. The Galaxy A06 will most likely be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, a chipset commonly used in budget and entry-level smartphones. It will be paired with at least 4GB of RAM and will run Android 14 out of the box.
Looking at the leaked specs, it’s clear that Samsung is targeting the budget consumer with the Galaxy A06. The MediaTek Helio G85 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM suggests that the focus is on affordability rather than top performance.
While certifications and leaks shed light on some of the major hardware components, many details of the phone still remain under wraps. We don’t yet know the phone’s design, camera configuration, battery capacity, or storage options. In addition, the specific launch date and availability are not yet known.
We hope that with the SIRIM certificate, Samsung will soon reveal official information about the Galaxy A06. We will be closely monitoring further developments and will let you know as soon as we learn more about this budget offering from Samsung.
