Paris plans to expand its bicycle offerings to draw tourists to neighbourhoods and away from the major sights, the tourism office of the French capital said on Friday. The director of the Paris tourism office, Corinne Menegaux, said that the aim is not to further increase the number of tourists at any cost but to introduce visitors to the capital’s diverse and sometimes lesser-known sides. This would benefit local artists and restaurant owners, and be a more sustainable form of tourism, she said, adding that the city wants to take advantage of the tourism boost it received during the Olympics….
