A time capsule has been buried at the site where a German combat brigade is to be stationed in Lithuania in the presence of Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė and Defence Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas. The ceremony on Monday in Rudninkai south of Vilnius was held to mark a new stage in the construction of a base for the German troops to be stationed in the Baltic republic.
