Russia’s military said it has occupied a small village in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk, the country’s Ministry of Defence announced on Thursday. The village of Vesele is now “under control,” it said. The information from Moscow could not be independently verified. There was initially no reaction from Ukraine. As there are several villages called Vesele in the Donetsk region, it was not clear which one was involved.
