Most shops in Germany are closed on Sundays and a majority of people polled do not want to see a change in the law to allow retailers to open more often. A survey conducted by YouGov, showed 53% rejected the idea of SUnday openings while around 37% supported the proposal and a further 10% did not state a preference. At 42%, men are in favour of the relaxed opening hours, and only 34% of women. At 62%, people aged 55 and over are more likely than average to be against the idea.
