Former Vuelta a Espana winner and three-time cyclo-cross champion Rolf Wolfshohl has died at the age 85, the family told dpa on Thursday. Wolfshohl won the Vuelta a Espana in 1965 and is one of the three German cyclists who have won the prestigious race alongside Rudi Altig (1962) and Jan Ullrich (1999). He was also world cyclo-cross champion in 1960, 1961 and 1963. Wolfshohl gained popularity at the Tour de France, in which he won a stage in 1967 and another one in 1970.
