Mortimer has been voted the second best place to live in Berkshire, according to readers of a lifestyle website. Users of the Muddy Stilettos site voted for villages and towns they rated highly in terms of sense of community, quality of access to schools, restaurants, shops and culture. Other West Berkshire places that made the top 10 were Pangbourne (fourth), Yattendon (sixth) and Hungerford (seventh). Caversham, in Reading, won the top spot in Berkshire.
