Donald Trump’s weekend visit to Sneaker Con in Philadelphia, where he promoted a Trump-branded line of athletic shoes, was greeted with a great of deal of skepticism on CNN Monday morning. The surprising visit by the former president — who was showered with boos which he called “a lot of emotion in this room” — was labeled by CNN commentator Jamal Simmons as a “con.” Speaking with hosts Audie Cornish and John Berman, Simmons suggested Trump was hoping to appeal to the crowd of younger male voters whom he has not been able to reach.
